Winter Climbing course overview
Get ready for your first classic winter climbing routes. You'll refresh your basic ice axe and crampon skills and then develop the ropework and technical climbing skills needed to tackle classic winter climbing routes. We will climb routes based on your ability. You may even progress to lead your first winter pitch! This course is run in the corries near the Cairngorms ski centre which minimises the walk in time and maximises climb time.
You'll be instructed by Jon Punshon WMCI. With over 30 years experience, Jon holds the Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor qualification. This is the highest qualification for winter mountaineering and climbing in the UK. You'll be in safe hands!
